Tersane - The cutest little restaurant right on the water (the tables are nestled in sand). 

Sait - The best fish. Definitely get the melon with feta and branzino

Zuma - not a local restaurant but great views and if you want a change from Turkish food



The Edition Hotel - brand new and on the water. The spa is great



Walk around the Marina

Eat a lot of mezzes

Rent a sailboat for the day. There's usually a delicious lunch abroad and the boat will take you to different coves for swimming






Karakoy Lokantasi - beautiful restaurant serving fish

Restaurant Balikci Sabahattin - off the beaten bath and don't expect any ambiance but the food is great. All outdoor seating and locals

Bazlama Kahvalti - Great turkish breakfast. Family-run prix fixe spot with fresh hot bread and donuts in addition to the traditional spread. Get here early.

Pak Pide and Pizza Salonu - no frills pide spot

Burc Kebap - In the Grand Bazaar. Get the kebaps, lamachun, and dolmas



Hagia Sophia - It's a must and you must get here early or stand in the blistering sun for a long time

Topkapi Palace - Beautiful and a must- see for your first visit

Basilica Cistern - Super cool underground cistern

Blue Mosque - Pretty if you have time

Buy a Turkish kilim or pillow cases -  at Adanan and Hasan



Soho House Istanbul - the former US Embassy building. Close to the tourist sites
